Business Need : AOC is a private company operating in Angola in the telecommunications market since 2004. In the last years AOC has been very successful and has been a leading distributor, stimulating the market in its approach to users, including experiences with the pioneering interactive design shops. AOC has widened its presence in the Middle East to expand business globally.
AOC setup its new office in Dubai Internet City recently. Communication between the head office in Angola & the new office in Dubai was an important factor to ensure co-ordination & support across borders. The Management was based in Angola and they wanted to be in touch with the Dubai office on a real time basis. They did not have a dedicated IT department in Dubai – the IT team from Angola was supporting. It was a necessity to outsource the IT requirements to any System Integrator.
Solution Offered : Prologix being the best in the Industry- provided the best technology & cost effective solution. Prologix accurately identified the gaps and offered connectivity along with robust technology. The telecom solution was Avaya IP Office providing extension dialling between the 2 offices. Security was ensured along with VPN connectivity by Dell SonicWALL Firewall. The Data Server, Application & Exchange Servers were hosted by Dell PowerEdge series. Power backup was given using APC UPS & Physical security including CCTV camera’s & Fibre cabling was deployed. PC Peripherals such as Desktops, Laptops, Printers & fax machines were also provided by Prologix. AOC have outlets around UAE – all the branches were connected including the Storage Warehouse with a centrally managed system. Apart from these, the POS machines were provided by Prologix. Since the IT solutions deployed in Dubai Office was outstanding – they have extended Prologix solutions to improve the issues faced in IT in the Angola head office.
AOC has opted for an Annual Maintenance contract from Prologix – initially the contract was defined as one Engineer visiting them once every week, and once they were satisfied with the Accurate Services from Prologix they have opted for a Resident Engineer on a permanent basis.
Currently Prologix is working with AOC for a datacentre Project.
